A mod for The Choicer Voicer

Everyone in the same room.

Chorus adds online multiplayer to The Choicer Voicer. Up to six people, one microphone at a time, everyone watching the same show.

You need to own the game. Nothing of the game is included here — Chorus builds a modded copy beside your own and leaves your saves and voice packs alone.

Three steps, then you're playing

No accounts, no launcher, no settings to get wrong. It takes a few minutes, and most of that is the computer working rather than you.

  1. 1

    Download and extract

Grab the zip and extract it properly — don't run Install.bat from inside the zip, or Windows copies out that one file and leaves the rest behind.

    Download the zip
  2. 2

    Double-click Install.bat

It finds your copy of the game, builds a modded one next to it, and points that build at the relay. If it can't find the game, it simply asks.

    It couldn't find my game

Drag the game's .exe into the window and press Enter. You can also drag the .exe straight onto Install.bat to begin with.

  3. 3

    Launch Chorus.exe and click Online

Host, or type a friend's six digit code. Your original game, your saves and your voice packs are untouched — keep both and launch whichever you fancy.

Features

Pick a channel

The awkward parts of playing a game with friends over the internet, quietly handled.

Nothing to forward

Every player connects out to the relay. No ports, no router settings, and nobody has to be reachable.

Six digit codes

The host gets a code, everyone else types it in. That is genuinely the whole thing.

Same house? No code

Whoever hosts appears in everyone else's list by itself. Click their game and you're in.

One mic at a time

Your microphone opens only for your lines, only on your machine. Everyone else watches.

Haven't got the pack?

Chorus offers to fetch it from GameBanana, checks the virus scan, verifies the download, and unpacks only audio, images and text — never anything that could run.

Your game, untouched

Chorus builds beside your install. Saves, packs and the original executable stay exactly as they were.

How it plays

A pack is a scene. You take a part.

Chorus plays dub mode — everyone in the room voices a piece of the same thing, and then you watch it back together.

01

Pre-show

Pick your contestant. The host picks the scene, everyone says they're ready, and the host starts.

02

Casting

Take a character — every line they speak is yours. The host can split the cast automatically, and packs that don't say who's speaking share the lines out evenly.

03

The dub

Lines come round in order. When one is yours your mic opens; when it isn't, a banner says whose it is.

04

Keep it, or go again

Everyone votes after each line. One “go again” is enough — if somebody couldn't hear it, you do it again rather than shipping it.

05

The screening

At the end you watch the finished thing back, and exiting puts everyone in the lobby ready for another.

DubForge

Turn any video into a pack

DubForge is a separate program that takes a show, a film or a cutscene you own and turns it into a dub pack. Pick the video, mark who says what, press build.

Packs it makes work in Chorus and in the ordinary game — so anything you make is playable by people who have never installed the mod.

  • Runs locally in your browser — nothing is uploaded
  • Borrows ffmpeg for you, no setup
  • Explains why a pack won't load instead of failing silently

FAQ

The usual questions

01 Do I need to own The Choicer Voicer?

Yes. Chorus is a mod, not a copy of the game — none of the game is included or distributed here. It finds the copy you already own and builds a modded one beside it.

02 Is it free?

Yes, and there is no account. Download it, run the installer, play.

03 Will it break my game or my saves?

No. Your original executable, saves and voice packs are left exactly as they are. Chorus is a second build sitting next to them, so you can launch whichever you fancy — and deleting it changes nothing about the original.

04 Why does Windows warn me when I run it?

Because the build is unsigned. SmartScreen checks a file's download reputation rather than its contents, and anything without a paid code-signing certificate gets flagged until enough people have downloaded it. Click More info, then Run anyway.

05 Do we all need the same voice packs?

No — that is rather the point. If you haven't got the pack the host picked, Chorus offers to fetch it from GameBanana, verifies it, and unpacks only audio, images and text.

06 Does somebody have to host a server?

Nobody hosts. Everyone connects out to a small relay that only knows about rooms and who is in them — no game code runs on it. That is why there is nothing to port forward.

07 How many people can play?

Up to six, with one microphone open at a time.

08 Can I make my own packs?

Yes — that is what DubForge is for. Anything it builds also works in the unmodded game.
